Julie and Cookie on our final session - January 2019.
cookie - female pit lab mix
Cookie has a true rags to riches story. She was found on one of our freeways here in Fort Worth Texas, cold, starving, and scared out of her mind. A sweet woman picked her up off the freeway and took her home. She immediately posted on the NextDoor App to try and find someone to take her in and foster her as the lady already had several dogs at home. In swoops Jocelin to the rescue! Jocelin saw the post and responded and went and picked up Cookie. She quickly realized she had a lot of work to do with Cookie. The sweet lab and pit mix was in heat, starved, and just completely scared. Jocelin had seen a post that my daughter made on the app about us having dog training experience so she messaged us. I went over Dec 31, 2018 to meet their family. Cookie was a special case. She was very sweet but so scared. She laid down and would not walk on the leash at all for me. She didn’t know sit or any commands. She mouthed a lot (puppy). We worked for the next 4 weeks together on obedience training and introducing her to the cat. She completely transformed. She now knows Sit, Down, Go to Bed, Heal, Quiet, and Off. She’s much more outgoing and feeling very safe and loved in her new home. I’m very grateful for Jocelin and Cookie, they reminded me how much I love training and this experience opened my eyes to opening my business here in Fort Worth. Thank you Jocelin for allowing me to be a part of Cookie’s transformation and happy ending! I’m so so grateful she’s found such a wonderful home!
Chesney, 4 Month Goldendoodle
Chesney - 4 Month Goldendoodle
Chesney’s mom called us and was just fed up with her cute but sneaky little bundle of joy. He had been sneaking upstairs to do his business in one of the guest bedrooms. The day she smelled something coming from upstairs she walked up to a not so nice surprise of Mr. sneaky pants piles left for her. That was it, it was time to call in the reinforcements. I went out and we got the potty training under control immediately along with his jumping up (which all puppies do for attention) and we started obedience training as well. Within the first week Chesney’s parents saw a huge improvement in his behavior and his obedience. He also learned to use the potty bells on the door within a couple weeks as well. All the doodle mixes are highly intelligent and this one has really excelled at his training. I could not be prouder of this little boy. Gold star for Chesney!
Monarchos & Winx, 2 yr old Great Pyrenees
Death row to lap of luxury!
We work with all kinds of rescue dogs, but these two have a sad and yet heartwarming story. Our client saw these two listed on Facebook and had just hours to live before the animal shelter was going to euthanize them. She rushed down to pick them up and save their lives. Little did she know that even though she saved them from death row at the shelter, their health was in grave danger! Monarchos had skin problems and was severely malnourished at only 66 pounds this giant breed should have been more than double that! The female Winx was heartworm positive and would have to undergo months of treatment to remedy her condition. Today these two gorgeous dogs are on the mend and are now much much healthier and happier. Then comes the call for help. Being rescues they had no manners and being so big they really needed to learn their place in the pack and how to conduct themselves. They are learning the basic commands and how to not bark at everything they see and hear. Both peers (common nickname for the Great Pyrenees) are doing wonderful in their new home with lots of love, food, beds, a great yard and a mother that loves them unconditionally.
